QSD Disposable Endurocide® curtains are perfect for use in both low risk patients and high patient turnover areas within your facility. There are 100% recyclable and have no laundry costs. QSD’s untreated disposable Endurocide curtains are versatile. They are suitable for single use in isolation or burn wards, as well as long term continued care usage, general wards and ICU. They are quick and easy to fit. There is no hassle with these lightweight disposable curtains. QSD’s fittings work with most popular track systems so there is no conversion required. These disposable curtains are fitted with labels showing the date of installation and include a do not enter sign to maintain patient privacy. Tiebacks are also there to help keep curtains secure and tidy when not in use. One more benefit to these QSD Endurocide® disposable curtains – they are fire retardant and meet all international fire retardant standards. Where can we use untreated Endurocide® disposable curtains?

  • Isolation wards
  • Accident and emergency
  • General wards
  • Day wards
  • General practice wards
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Rheumatology

Essentially Endurocide® untreated disposable curtains are an economical solution for healthcare areas which have high patient turnover or areas in which the disposable curtains may become easily visibly soiled. Due to the nature of polypropylene and the fact that the curtains are designed to be disposable, Endurocide® Untreated Curtains should be removed after up to 3 months of use in-situ, or earlier if visibly soiled.

Hook Type

When choosing the type of hook you order with your curtain, it’s important that you order the correct size to fit your railing – and with so many types of railings available worldwide, this is sometimes easier said than done!

Beyond their proven clinical benefit, QSD has multiple colours, patterns and finishes to suit any interior design need. And you don’t need to replace your track installations. Remove your existing curtains, and hang up our Endurocide® disposable curtains.

Cleaning & Exposure

It is not advised to clean any QSD Endurocide® untreated disposable curtains by any mechanical means. When any of the disposable curtains become visibly soiled they should be replaced. It is advised that Endurocide® Untreated Curtains are not placed in areas where they are exposed to prolonged direct sunlight. The polypropylene material the disposable curtains are made from is not UV resistant and may suffer accelerated ageing as a result. This will lead to a loss in tensile strength and elasticity of the curtains. This will become visible as “pilling”. This is caused by the fibres in the polypropylene becoming brittle with UV exposure and coming loose from the main fibre chains and breaking down.

Disposing Endurocide® Disposable Curtains

All Endurocide® Disposable Curtains are manufactured from 100% recyclable polypropylene.  However, as the curtains are designed to come in contact with potential hospital pathogens. QSD would recommend that after use, Endurocide® Disposable Curtains be disposed of as hospital waste or in accordance with local regulations. For those customers concerned with the whole life span of their products, there is the possibility of incinerating the curtains after use for their calorific value.  Polypropylene has a high calorific value and one full width curtain could potentially generate enough energy to light a standard light bulb for an hour and a half.
